Last week legislative candidate Vicki Kraft paid a visit to WRA. Kraft is seeking the 17th District open House seat being vacated by Rep. Lynda Wilson who is running for the Senate open seat. The 17th District encompasses parts of Vancouver, and the towns of Orchards, Brush Prairie, Hockinson and Battle Ground.
WRA’s Political Action Committee, The Retail Action Council, will begin reviewing statewide candidates for endorsements and contributions following the filing deadline of May 20.
Vicki Kraft is the Advancement Director for Southwest Washington for the Freedom Foundation. Prior to her current position, she worked as a senior account executive for major companies including Dell, Pillsbury, Frigidaire and many small businesses. Her community involvement includes serving on the steering committee for the Vancouver Library Forum, Boys and Girls Club, Veterans’ Community garden, and as a member of the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.
Of particular interest to WRA is Vicki’s opposition to repealing the non-resident sales tax exemption upon which so many retailers along the Oregon/Washington border depend. WRA wishes Vicki good luck in her election efforts.
