WRA outlines damage from Gov. Inslee’s budget proposal
Gov. Inslee’s largest-in-state-history tax increase proposal would impose financial hardship within several segments of the Washington State economy.
Mark Johnson, Senior Vice President for Government Affairs for the Washington Retail Association, testified recently before the Senate Commerce, Labor & Sports committee about the negative impacts to be expected from a record-breaking state tax increase.
The proposal would hurt sales and increase costs for retailers and consumers across the state, Johnson testified. The result would be layoffs that would damage the state economy.
