Gov. Jay Inslee Tuesday named Suzan “Suzi” LeVine as commissioner of the Employment Security Department. She replaces Dale Peinecke who announced his retirement in April.
LeVine most recently served as U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein. She brings experience in workforce development, apprenticeships and the future of work. Prior to joining the U.S. State Department, LeVine worked at Microsoft as director of strategic partnerships for student developers and as director of communications for education. She’s also worked at Expedia as vice president of sales and marketing.
LeVine begins her new job on July 9. For the interim, Inslee named Cami Feek, director of Paid Family and Medical Leave, as acting ESD Commissioner. Click here to read Inslee’s full announcement about LeVine’s hiring.
